Scotland centre Nick De Luca scored a wonderful individual try as Edinburgh defeated Wasps in a pre-season friendly at Murrayfield.
The Dumfries-born back carved open the much-vaunted defence of the English champions before touching down underneath the posts as Edinburgh ran out 22-15 winners.

Scotland prop Geoff Cross also scored a terrific try against Ian McGeechan’s side to send the 4,225 crowd home happy.

Cross, who earned a call-up for the summer tour to Argentina, raced 40 yards before side-stepping England full-back Mark Van Gisbergen.

Another Scotland man, Phil Godman, also crossed the whitewash with a try that demonstrated the stand-off’s undoubted quality.

The playmaker started the move inside his own half and, after Matt Mustchin and Andrew Turnbull offloaded in the tackle, Godman scored in the corner.

Prop Pat Barnard plus England duo Tom Voyce and James Haskell replied for the visitors.
